Our Everest Contracting team has delivered an impressive $2M+ remediation project across a 60-unit residential complex spanning Davis Street and Rainford Street in Surry Hills. The 1980s building presented a range of critical defects, including failing drainage, concrete spalling, and long-term water ingress. Our transformation focused not just on repair, but on resolving root causes to deliver durable, compliant results that met the needs of both the owners and residents.

The remedial work highlights were:

  • Full roof sheeting and gutter replacement
  • Structural concrete repairs, including slab edge spalling
  • Balcony and façade remediation, with new balustrades and timber elements
  • Flashing upgrades and improved waterproofing
  • Treatment of efflorescence and salt attack
  • Internal restoration across 10 lobbies and stairwells
  • Encasement and protection of exposed structural steel

The project provided much more than defect rectification – it significantly improved the building’s presentation, safety and comfort for the long-term. This involves careful staging, clear communication and technical rigour. Entrances were modernised, finishes upgraded to our usual thorough, high-quality standard. The Everest Construction team has once again delivered a complex remediation that protects asset value while caring for the needs of residents including minimising disruption. This project demonstrates our ability to effectively manage all these elements.
